Downloading Lattice files using FTP

Lattice Semiconductor offers customers the ability to download large files via FTP for a smoother, faster download experience. You can choose to download such files directly using your web browser's native FTP capability, or to use dedicated FTP software. Dedicated FTP software is often a superior choice as it doesn't tie-up your browser and provides greater stability - allowing you to resume partial downloads for example. Wikipedia provides a comparison of FTP software clients.

Downloading files using your browser

Because different browsers handle FTP connections in different ways, we always provide 2 URLs (or 2 download buttons) for each file. Whatever browser you are using, it should be able to handle at least one of the URLs. To download the file, either click the first link or button, or drop the provided URL into your browser's address bar. If this doesn't work, try the other button / link / URL. If neither work, test your connection...

After clicking at least one of the links you should see something like this:

FTP test image

If not, then there is a problem somewhere in the chain. The most likely explanations are either that your proxy settings are incorrectly configured or that your firewall prohibits FTP connections. If you have FTP software, then the simplest workaround is to use that instead (see below). If you don't have FTP software, then contact your network administrator. If you're still experiencing difficulties, contact webmaster@latticesemi.com and we'll do what we can to assist.

Downloading files using FTP software

Start your FTP software and setup a new connection. The method you use to do this will depend on your specific software, but the information you require will be the same.

Direct Connection (no proxy server)

Use this method if you are not downloading from behind a corporate firewall.

FTP Settings
Server downloads.latticesemi.com
Port 21 (default)
Username anonymous
Password your email address

Connecting via a proxy server

If you're connecting from behind a corporate firewall you will need to access our FTP server via your corporate proxy server. The setup works like this...

FTP Settings
Server your proxy server (e.g. proxy.widgets.com)
Port 21 (default)
Username anonymous@downloads.latticesemi.com
Password your email address

If you are unable to connect using this method, contact your network administrator for advice.
